OUR PROGRAMS

Our programs place an emphasis on growth and improvement, rather than solely focusing on performance. We aim to get our students great at what they’re already good at and to increase their competency in their “skill development gaps”. Our programs constantly challenge students to learn and grow, as we strive to deliver sessions with progressively more advanced and challenging offensive and defensive skills, concepts, actions, and coverages that help our students to improve their execution, basketball IQ, decision making, and on-court performance.

At Evolve we aim to address the demands of the modern game of basketball and the movement towards “positionless basketball”. We accomplish this through not pigeonholing our students into set positions at an early age and striving to develop all aspects of their game. Another way that we achieve this is by placing a strong emphasis on concepts such as spacing, playing with pace, situational awareness, and making quick decisions on the court.

In addition, we place great importance on developing our students’ footwork. We believe that footwork is the foundation on which everything else is built, is essential for effectively performing all skills, and creates more fundamentally-sound, well-rounded, and effective players.

At Evolve we offer four types of programs:

In addition we offer private (individual) and semi-private (2-4 students) classes. These classes are delivered outdoors. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

IMPORTANT WAIVER NOTICE: PLEASE READ

Please note that all students (and their parent / guardian, if under the age of 18) must sign the EVOLVE BASKETBALL PERFORMANCE ACADEMY LLC RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT in order to be able to participate in any Evolve Basketball Performance Academy event.  Please do not sign up for a program unless you agree to these terms and conditions, as purchased programs are non-refundable.

Once you have signed up for a program you will receive an email with a link to e-sign the waiver.  Please ensure that the waiver has been signed prior to the first session.  Students will NOT be able to participate in any session unless the waiver has been signed.

AGE NOTE:  Our age categories have been created to provide age-appropriate rim height, ball size, skills, competition level, and coaching approach to optimize each individual’s development and basketball experience. However, our age categories have some “overlap” to account for each student’s individual situation and circumstances (such as basketball skill level and physical maturity in conjunction with mental and emotional maturity). In most cases we would recommend that students select a program in which they will be of the oldest age rather than the youngest age (for example, we would usually recommend that 7-year-olds select the 5-7 age category rather than the 7-9 age category). However, this depends on each individual's situation so we encourage you to contact us if you are unsure. When deciding whether to enroll a student in a program where they are of the youngest recommended age, please ensure that they are able to comfortably shoot on the listed rim height with the basketball that is used in that program, otherwise this may lead to poor shooting mechanics. If you have any questions regarding the most appropriate age category for your child, then please contact us prior to selecting a program.

EVOLVE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (EPDS) PROGRAM

At Evolve we have created a comprehensive, year-round, Player Development System that provides our students with a structured and progressive development pathway.

These programs follow our Evolve Player Development System (EPDS) curriculum that addresses all aspects of the modern game of basketball, in addition to teaching our Core Character Strengths.

Our EPDS constantly challenges students to learn and grow, as each program consists of progressively more advanced and challenging offensive and defensive skills, concepts, actions, and coverages, that help our students to improve their execution, basketball IQ, decision making, and on-court performance.

PLEASE NOTE: Our EPDS Programs have a maximum class size of 12 students and each session is 60, 75, 90 or 105 mins in duration.  Classes are delivered indoors on weekdays at either Ferguson Elementary, Leonetti Elementary, or Heritage Rose Elementary (see specific course for venue details).

EVOLVE CUSTOMIZED PLAYER DEVELOPMENT (ECPD) PROGRAM

Our Evolve Customized Player Development Programs focus on individual player development with an emphasis on ball handling, rips, jabs and pivots, shooting, finishing at and around the basket and two-player actions such as ball screens, dribble handoffs (DHOs) and get actions. These programs provide a high-level of individual attention and individualized feedback to optimize each student’s development. We aim to develop well-rounded basketball players who can meet the demands of the modern game by further developing their strengths while simultaneously increasing competency in their “skill development gaps”. These programs are delivered with a very high coach to student ratio, with a maximum of just 4 students per class, which allows us to effectively cater to each individual and their specific needs, enabling us to develop a customized training program. This also allows students to benefit from a high number of repetitions to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of each session.

Our ECPD program is divided into two skill levels:

1.       Beginner/Beginner-Intermediate Level

2.       Intermediate/Advanced Level

When selecting an ECPD program please choose the program that you feel is most appropriate for your child’s current skill level.  Once enrolled, students will be invited via email to fill out our Pre-Program Self-Assessment Form to communicate their perceived strengths and development gaps, in regards to their basketball skills, to help us gain a better understanding of their basketball experience and skill level prior to the start of the program.

If you are unsure of the most appropriate program for your child, we encourage you to contact us for recommendations on program placement.

PLEASE NOTE: Our ECPD Program will be delivered OUTDOORS (at 2707 Van Gogh Lane) for early Fall 2024 and will be 60-minutes in duration. For these sessions we use a top of the range ProDunk goal and will utilize "The Gun" shooting machine to maximize shooting repetitions.

EVOLVE PURE SHOOTING (EPS) PROGRAM

Our Evolve Pure Shooting Program focuses purely on shooting development. We aim to develop efficient, versatile, and dynamic shooters for the modern game. Our high coach to student ratio, with a maximum of just 4 students per class, enables us to effectively cater to each individual and their specific needs. Our limited number of students per class, in conjunction with our utilization of The Gun shooting machine, allows us to maximize shooting repetitions in order to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of each session. Our Evolve Pure Shooting Programs provide a high-level of individual attention and individualized feedback to optimize each student’s development. We strive to develop more informed and efficient shooters through both quantitative and qualitative feedback. We achieve this through observation and analysis of shooting mechanics and decision making as well as through the feedback provided from our SIQ basketballs. We utilize SIQ basketballs to provide students with a comprehensive analysis of their shooting performance. In order to take full advantage of the use of SIQ basketballs, students are strongly encouraged to subscribe to the SIQ Player App to receive quantitative feedback on shooting metrics, such as shooting percentage, release angle and release speed, to be able to continuously monitor their progress and optimize their shooting development.

Students who enroll in our Evolve Pure Shooting Program will have an individual consultation & shooting assessment (using our SIQ Basketballs) with their coach to assess and discuss their shooting strengths, skill development gaps, and goals prior to the start of the program.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Evolve Pure Shooting courses are delivered outdoors at 2707 Van Gogh Ln, Sienna. Summer sessions are scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon / early evening to take advantage of lower temperatures. Each session is 6o mins and hydration breaks are regularly scheduled to optimize concentration and performance.
